Excessive sweating can be an embarrassing problem, as well as a vicious cycle. You may worry about the sweating, which can in turn cause more sweating and produce more anxiety. It’s almost the same as anxiety attack sufferers who worry so much about their next attack that they actually give themselves another anxiety attack.

Excessive sweating can also prevent one from holding certain positions or careers. For example, someone who is suffering from sweaty hands will most likely not want a job position where they are required to meet different people each day and shake hands or hold any occupation that requires holding a knife (fisherman, butcher). Holding a pen or pencil can become a difficult task if you suffer from sweaty hands.

A person who has very sweaty feet also faces some major setbacks. You may not be able to wear flip flops, sandals, or slide-on shoes because your shoes could just slide off and cause you to stumble and injure yourself. Even living with someone could be difficult because of the odor problem emanating from your sneakers or dress shoes. You may even need to buy various pairs of sneakers each year to control the odor in them. Most often body odor just doesn’t cut it.

Excessive underarm sweating is probably the most noticeable and most embarrassing to suffer from, although worrying about foot odor constantly is never nice either. You may need to change clothes several times a day, layer clothing in hopes of the sweat marks not reaching the outer surface layer of fabric, wear dark clothes all the time to mask the damp marks, or be forced to wear sleeveless shirts and keep elbows away from body.

No matter how you look at it, excessive sweating can be a very unpleasant experience. How to prevent sweating is key. Excessive sweating is caused by sympathetic overactivity. It can be emotional distressing to the sufferer, and as mentioned before, excessive sweating can be an occupational disability. Luckily, there are natural treatments available to help control excessive sweating and thus control excessive body odor.

Sweating is a natural human body process that allows for your body’s core temperature regulation. If you didn’t sweat then you would overheat, which could lead to heat stroke – even death. However, if you sweat too much or for no reason at all, then you are suffering from an excessive sweating disorder known as hyperhidrosis. While there are ways to cure over excessive sweating, most treatments are aimed at how to prevent sweating.

It is normal to sweat when you are over-exerting your self (such as when you exercise), are nervous, or exposed to high temperatures. It is not normal to sweat if you are sitting still at your desk at work or school or have large underarm sweat stains on your shirt after work or school when none of the aforementioned causes of sweating were present. Excessive sweating can be an embarrassing disorder to overcome, because any way you look at it, sweat causes body odor; however, there is always hope and this problem is not uncommon.

You just need to decide how to prevent your sweating. Everyone is different in the way that their profuse sweating can be controlled. Sometimes sweating can be controlled by simple over-the-counter antiperspirants. If your problem is severe enough, this will not prevent your sweating entirely. There are also prescription antiperspirants, medications, and surgical procedures available to control sweating.
